We are Hindu Religious charity built a very big temple in London for the Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi and Lord Sri Narayanar with an investment of £5.5.million. The devotees visit the temple from all over the UK, Europe and also from all over the world. The temple is also having Sri Hanuman and number of other deities. Garlands are offered to God and these garlands are placed on deities.

Responsibilities and Duties

Job Description

Garland maker should make different types of garlands for all deities for the pooja, homam and abhishegam. Very knowledgeable on making different styles of garland for the deities. Garland maker should place the request for flowers to be ordered locally and also from India and check the quantities of the flowers each week. Garland maker should make garlands and other flowers for the devotees so that devotees could offer them to the deities.

Garland maker should help the priests to decorate the deities and also to involve in the decoration of the chariot once a year. Garand maker decorate the temple hall with flowers for various functions and festivals.

Qualifications and Skills

Person Specification

Each temple has their own special garland maker, must be a religious person, who has devoted his life to making garland to each deity as each deity will have different styles of garland at different times and different occasions.

The garland maker should be trained to make various types of garlands include various devotional songs with various ragas. They should be a qualified person to perform this mangala isai.
